Peak Ambition: The Journey to 5 Peaks Cypress (Video)

Trail running is a celebration of adventure, community, and the great outdoors.

It's a sport where barriers are broken and bonds are formed.

We teamed up with 5 Peaks Adventures to share stories of dedication and athletic ambition as four athletes prepared for the Cypress Mountain race in West Vancouver, British Columbia.

The event was more than just a race. It was an opportunity for like-minded athletes, each with different motives, to connect with one another in their element and build lasting relationships. The race brought out the best in every runner, pushing them to their limits against a background that can only be described as world-class.

Thank you to all of the talented athletes who made this project possible:

  • Robyn Frisby
  • Therese Leung
  • Connor Hofler
  • Kim Harvey

Video Transcript

Robyn Frisby: “For me, trail running is not only about the challenge and competition but also about being a part of something bigger.

We're all competing with each other during the race, but this is also bonding us.”

Therese Leung: “I love the community aspect of trail racing, but I'm also racing to push myself to go harder and faster.”

Connor Hofler: “I race to compete, and the competition isn't just between myself and the other racers. It’s also between me and myself.

I want to be able to prove that, you know, my old body can handle the rigors and the training that I'm putting it through.”

Kim Harvey: “Trail running is a long journey. It's not something you can just pick up in a couple of weeks.

Racing feeds my competitive nature, but for me, it's more about the community. It’s really about being part of something.

That's why I participate in 5 Peaks; because of the people, the community, and the vibe.”

Therese Leung: “Every time I go out to a race, especially a 5 Peaks race, I come out of it with more friends than when I went in, so, that's really cool.”
